Vestigo Ventures Portfolio Company Netcapital Official Funding Platform for TechCrunch

Agreement demonstrates power of streamlined funding process

BOSTON – May 10, 2017 – Vestigo Ventures’ portfolio company, Netcapital, has signed an agreement making the private securities platform the official funding platform for the May 15-17 TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York City. TechCrunch is a leading online publisher of technology industry news and tracker of technology startup companies.

“The agreement with TechCrunch represents a compelling validation of Netcapital’s platform, which greatly streamlines the funding process for startups,” notes Vestigo Managing Director Ian Sheridan. “More broadly, Netcapital illustrates the potential for FinTech companies to offer businesses, investors and consumers radically democratizing advances around access, cost and simplicity.”

The agreement with TechCrunch comes on the heels of Netcapital hosting in March a successful round of fundraising for Court Innovations, a startup providing a web-based platform for resolving court cases online, with efficiencies to both individuals and court systems. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Court Innovations rapidly met its fundraising target of approximately $500,000, demonstrating the ability of Netcapital to level the playing field for startups in a variety of ecosystems.

“Netcapital makes the fundraising process more integrated with the daily life of an entrepreneur because you can leverage all of the energy and attention you create in marketing and building professional relationships to close capital,” said Jason Frishman, Founder and CEO of Netcapital. “We are excited about our ability to supercharge live events like the ones hosted by TechCrunch that generate tremendous energy and attention.”
